The Racetrack

The next morning after a very very cold and freezing night, we got up early to explore the Racetrack - here you will find strange tracks left in the dry lake bed left by moving rocks.. nobody is quite sure how the rocks move across the lake.. Must be the rock elves again... It's about a half mile walk accross the dry bed  on the south end to the first rocks, although they are found all over the lake bed. The most unspoiled traces we found were on east side about another half mile north of the south end of the lake.

The flatness of the Racetrack goes on and on..

This stone is in a hurry...

More paths in the dry dirt..

The best time to see the tracks is early morning or just before sunset, when the light angles reveal the tracks the rocks have left.

Some tracks go on and on...

And some just go all over the place in a small area..
