Below are a few diagrams I snagged that may help determine what people are talking about when it comes to various parts. The diagrams themselves are kind of generic, but close enough to the Tacoma to give you an idea of what you are looking at.

FRONT SUSPENSION

  1. Hub with bearings and wheel studs (Tacoma different than shown)

  2. Knuckle with Spindle

  3. Upper A-Arm / Control Arm

  4. Upper A-Arm/ Control Arm Shaft

  5. Upper A-Arm/ Control Arm Bushings

  6. Upper Ball Joint

  7. Lower Control Arm (non-Tacoma shown - Tacoma's have an A-arm like the upper for the lower control arm)

  8. Lower Control Arm Bushing

  9. Lower Ball Joint

  10. Shock (non Tacoma - Tacoma's use a strut / Coil over which combines the shock with the coil in one unit)
